Long-Range Facility Plan
North End
Enrollment is increasing in KCSD’s Castlegar schools, leading to growing pressure on school space. While our official projections indicate a future decline in enrollment, these numbers do not fully reflect the rising population of families moving into the area.
Several key factors are attracting new residents to the region, including new business openings, ongoing housing developments, and the increased availability of remote work. Additionally, the Ministry of Education and Child Care has asked school districts to consider childcare needs for children under five, as well as before- and after-school care, when planning for the future.
KCSD’s Long-Range Facility Plan (LRFP) outlines a district-wide strategy for decision-making about our schools over the next decade. It also ensures a consistent and organized approach to setting local and provincial funding priorities. Please see the below links to current information relating the North End section of the LRFP.
